Ryo Honda
Dr. Ryo Honda is a Professor in the Faculty of Geosciences and Civil Engineering at Kanazawa University. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo in 2005 and has since been engaged in extensive international collaborative research projects, particularly in tropical Asian countries. He has also held visiting positions at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and Osaka University. His expertise includes antimicrobial resistance in water environments, wastewater-based epidemiology, and membrane-applied biological processes for water treatment and resource recovery. Dr. Honda serves as a Senior Editor of mSphere journal and a board member of Japan Wastewater Surveillance Association. His accolades include the Excellent Research Award from the Kurita Water and Environment Foundation in 2022. He recently contributed to global AMR initiatives led by the Quadripartite collaboration of FAO, UNEP, WHO, and WOAH, and launched the Asia-Pacific Researcher Network on Environmental Dimension of Antimicrobial Resistance (EnD-AMR-Asia) to support effective international decision-making and actions.
