Camila Gazolla Volpiano
With over 13 years of scientific research experience, I have worked on clinical and agronomical projects in Brazil, the USA, and Australia. I hold a PhD and an MSc in Genetics and Molecular Biology, and I am currently a Postdoctoral Microbial Bioinformatician at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute. Here, I investigate how past infections may predispose individuals to non-communicable diseases by analyzing ‘omics and clinical data from large-scale, population-based cohorts. As a co-founder of an award-winning startup specializing in NGS-based microbiological analysis, I have successfully bridged academia and industry, secured funding for biotechnology projects, and collaborated with key stakeholders beyond academic circles.
