Diana Lagana
I have worked as a Medical Scientist for over thirty years, across various Microbiology and Infectious Diseases diagnostic laboratories and recently for the SA Department of Health and Wellbeing, Infection Control Service during COVID-19 pandemic.
I have also worked as an external instructor, examiner, facilitator and organiser of microbiology courses and practical sessions.
I am currently employed in the Central Adelaide Local Health Network, Infection Prevention Control Unit where my role extends to all aspects of infection prevention, applying scientific expertise in areas of surveillance including preventing healthcare acquired blood stream infection and the spread of multi-resistant organisms Other roles include outbreak management, high consequence infectious disease preparation, data analysis, as well as reprocessing of reusable medical devices and equipment, reviewing new products /technologies, environmental cleaning and disinfection, water quality and ventilation.
I also enjoy the opportunity to participate in research and joint publications.
